The most common thing business owners tell me is: "I know I need help, I just don't know where to start." My answer is always the same — start with the tasks that repeat.
1. Data entry and data cleanup
Spreadsheets, contact lists, product details, records that must match. It is important work, but it does not need the owner. It needs accuracy and patience — and a system so it stays clean afterwards.
2. CRM updates
A CRM only helps if it is current. Updating contacts, notes and follow-ups after calls and emails is classic delegate-first work: small, frequent, and easy to forget when you are busy.
3. Email and calendar support
Sorting an inbox, flagging what truly needs you, and keeping a calendar realistic saves more mental energy than almost anything else. You still make the decisions — you just stop drowning in the sorting.
4. Web content updates
New photos, a changed price, a product to add, a page to refresh on WordPress, Shopify or Wix. These tasks are quick for a VA and strangely expensive when they sit on an owner's list for three weeks.
5. Social media assistance
Designing posts in Canva, preparing captions and keeping a simple schedule going. Consistency matters more than perfection — and consistency is exactly what a VA provides.
How to start
Pick one task. Write down how you do it today — even roughly. That short note becomes our starting checklist, and from there I build the workflow so the task simply gets done, every week.
