I sit on both sides of this desk: I teach Computer Science and run online classes, and I support other people's businesses as a VA. Online teachers and coaches have a particular admin load — part business, part classroom — and generic help rarely fits it. Here is where support actually lands.
Class materials, ready before the week starts
Slides tidied, worksheets formatted, links checked, resources uploaded to Google Classroom or the course platform in the right order with the right names. The teacher walks in and teaches. Anyone who has prepped materials at midnight before a morning class knows what this is worth.
The student-facing inbox
Enrollment questions, rescheduling, "where is the link?" messages — a VA with agreed templates can carry most of this, across time zones, while the teacher is literally in a lesson and cannot reply. Parents and students feel cared for; the teacher's breaks become breaks.
Content that markets the teaching
Teachers generate expertise daily and post almost none of it. I turn it into a rhythm: one lesson insight becomes a post, one common student question becomes a short article, testimonials and class moments (shared with permission) become proof. The calendar-and-batch system I use for businesses works exactly the same here.
Records and reports
Attendance, progress notes, quiz results — organised as they happen, not reconstructed before a review or a parent meeting. School-taught data habits again: batch, check, file, note.
If you teach or coach online and your evenings are disappearing into admin, you do not need to become more organised. You need a second pair of hands that already understands classrooms. That combination is rare, and it is exactly what I offer — see my Services page.
